Vignette Selfies Guide#

To use Vignette, open your Kindroid's settings, go to Models and set Selfie Model to Vignette. You can also select it for one selfie under Additional controls → Selfie model on a per-image basis. Avatar Description

Some tags only work in the avatar description. Others work in the selfie prompt too.

Vignette works well with the following syntax written into the Avatar Description or Selfie prompt:

TagAvatar DescriptionSelfie prompt
[body: ...]Yes (custom avatars)No
<face descriptors>YesYes
<(ext:N)>YesNo
///YesNo

[body: ...]#

Put body details here for better results.

Example: [body: tall, athletic build]

Keep it under about 150 characters. Anything past that gets cut off.

If your Kindroid's skin tone keeps coming out wrong, especially if it's an unusual color, put the skin tone in [body: ...]. Just keep in mind it uses up some of your 150 characters.

///

Anything after /// in the avatar description is ignored for selfies. You can use it for notes or details you don't want in images.

Advanced Configuration Tags#

Face Descriptors: <...>#

Put face details inside angle brackets. You can use them in the avatar description or the selfie prompt.

Example: <soft smile, green eyes, winged eyeliner, light stubble>

Use as few as necessary. Too many can give you a bobblehead or weird artifacts around the head.

Only use them for the face: expression, eyes, makeup and facial hair. Leave out pose, hands, props, clothing and style. Style usually works better as plain text in the prompt.

In group selfies, brackets in the shared scene prompt won't change anyone's face. Put them in that person's avatar description or their own prompt instead.

Face Context Configuration: <(ext:N)>#

This controls how much of the area around the head gets blended into the face swap. It only works in the avatar description.

The default is 1.6, and you can set it anywhere from 1.1 to 3.0.

A higher number blends more of the body around the head. The head fits the body better, but you lose some face detail.

A lower number gives you more face detail, but the head is more likely to look the wrong size.

Write it exactly like this: <(ext:1.6)>. If you leave out the parentheses (<ext:1.6>), it won't work.

Prompt Creation#

Put the most important things first. Vignette pays the most attention to the start of the prompt.

A good order:

  • Art style (if you want one)
  • Who's in the picture
  • What they're doing
  • Where they are
  • What they're wearing
  • Camera, lighting and mood

Troubleshooting#

Put the Kindroid that's hardest to get right, like a non-human Kindroid, in the first slot.

Bobblehead or artifacts around the head

Cut back on face descriptors within <angle brackets> and remove anything that isn't about the face. If the head still looks too big, try a slightly higher ext number.

Face looks blurry or not detailed enough

Try a slightly lower ext number.

Wrong skin tone

Then put the skin tone in [body: ...].

Art style isn't showing up

Remove no-sys, move the style to the start of the prompt and try a shorter avatar description.

Kindroid looks too young

This can happen with fantasy styles. Make sure their age is in the avatar description.

A body trait shows up in every selfie

Trim [body: ...] down to only what you really need.

Non-human Kindroid looks wrong in a group selfie

Move them to the first slot.

Face descriptors aren't working in a group selfie

Move them out of the shared prompt and into that person's avatar description or their own prompt.

ext isn't doing anything

Make sure it has parentheses, like <(ext:1.6)>, and that it's in the avatar description, not the prompt.
