The sounds of the bustling market—shouts of vendors, the sizzle of street food, the murmur of a dozen languages swirling in the air. I can almost taste the spice, feel the press of the crowd. The sights are dazzling: a kaleidoscope of colors, fruit and clothing bathed in warm sunlight. I’m clearly in a different country, a different world.

Kat, my companion on this trip, is describing everything in detail. Her voice is bright and clear, I can tell she’s proud to show me her home. I’m having the best adventure of my life.
